My name is Cassandra Knegt. I am a cis-gendered female with pronouns of she/her and an
ADHD identified therapist working with youth (12+) and adults. I am Indigenous, Mi’kmaq Potlotek First Nation and settler Canadian background. I have dedicated much of my career to working with Indigenous peoples and First Nations communities.
I completed my Masters of Social Work degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, Indigenous Field of
Study Program. I have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment
Therapy, Trauma-informed therapy approaches, and use a wide range of modalities in my
practice. I am an EMDR therapist in training with consultant supervision. I work from a wholistic
approach that integrates Indigenous ways of being, knowing, and psychology.
I am passionate about supporting individuals on their healing journey and connecting clients
with their Indigenous culture, understanding intergenerational trauma, and cultural
identity/disconnection.
I enjoy helping others while using strength-based and client-centered approaches, and integrating various treatment therapies to best meet the needs and goals of my clients. I believe clients are the experts in their own lives that may need some guidance in accessing
their inner knowledge. My hope is to be able to provide a safe place for clients to heal in a way
that they want to heal.
